Extruders are machines that make many things that you use commonly, including foods. Noodles, for example, are forms of pasta which are made by passing the pasta through an extruder.

     An extruder is a machine that passes certain materials through a cross-section mold to create a final product that is forced into a specific shape. Most materials that pass through extruders come out in a long tubular shape, either hollow or solid.

     Many different products are created through extrusion processes, including bricks, noodles and baby food. Mainly, metals, ceramics foods, and plastic go through
extrusion processes. Extruders can be beneficial because they only make materials go through compression and shear stress, making them ideal for brittle materials or very complicated cross-sections, such as those with thin lines in their
design.
